Time Lapse Digital Imaging and Video Microscopy
A stable light source such as the X-Cite® 200DC or an X-Cite LED system is crucial to the accuracy and repeatability of such experiments.
For time-lapse experiments spanning days, the X-Cite exacte or an X-Cite LED system can be used to maintain the light exposure over time when the light is left on for the duration of the experiment. When using an LED for time-lapse imaging, it is best to take advantage of the fast ON/OFF capabilities of LEDs in order to synchronize the camera exposure with the illuminator. X-Cite XLED1 and X-Cite TURBO are well suited for time-lapse imaging. When conducting time-lapse with Steromicroscopy, the X-Cite XYLIS best suits this application with its high power and ability to turn off the UV part of the spectrum in order to increase sample viability.
