Excelitas Technologies to Present at 2011 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference in Valencia, Spain
Philippe Bérard, Ph.D., a member of the Technical Staff, Low-Light Level Detection, for Excelitas Technologies, a global provider of innovative, customized optoelectronics to OEMs seeking high-performance technology solutions, will present a technical paper entitled “Performance Measurements for a New Low Dark Count UV-SiPM” at the IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference held in Valencia, Spain from October 23-29.
Dr. Bérard will discuss how the measured characteristics of the UV-enhanced silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) device address the needs of the molecular imaging and high-energy physics communities. Specifically he will discuss performance measurements demonstrating:
- Low dark count rate
- High photon-detection efficiency (PDE)
- Low timing resolution
- Low gain sensitivity to temperature and voltage
This year’s IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference brings together leading scientists and manufacturer from the radiation detector community to discuss the latest technological developments in medical imaging, high energy physics, homeland security, and more.
