Production Technician I Lead

We are actively recruiting for a Production Technician Lead - Testing, on day shift. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Upon hire, employee benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, up to 10 paid holidays per year, 18 days PTO, tuition reimbursement and a matching 401(k) plan! The hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime, as business requires.

 

A Team Lead is responsible for ensuring production is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule. The Lead ensures safety and quality standards are maintained and improved on, plus coordinates effective training to meet changing production demands. The Lead must reach a balance of directly testing products vs organizing their team to meet production objectives.

Lead Job Expectations, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with manager and other team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments in accordance with customer demand and ensure production schedules are met
  • Coordinates resources to support overall goals
  • Ensures objectives are met by assigning tasks and following up with all team members as needed during the shift
  • Works closely with support staff such as Technicians, Process/Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials/Warehouse, IT teams to resolve issues quickly and completely
  • Maintains awareness of employee training and ensures records are kept up to date
  • Reports problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to Manager. 
  • Provides status versus plan to Manager which includes:
    • Issues and recommendations for recovery of current activities to meet job order outs plans
    • Safety, quality, or equipment issues
    • Problem jobs with specific information requiring follow-up
    • Any Engr assistance requests
  • Handles front line performance and quality issues; communicates with employees in a respectful manner regarding time management and workmanship issues; notifies Management when further action is required to improve performance
  • Submits equipment failure work requests to Process Engineering or IT teams as required
  • Identifies and supports continuous improvement efforts with Manager
  • Sustains and drives Lean manufacturing and 5S activities
  • Participates as an active member of the production team and tests products as needed
  • Follows documented policies and procedures as designated by the company’s Quality System and Phoseon Employee Handbook.
  • Attendance call ins--take messages from phone and notify Manager

SAFETY:  Work with Safety Committee/Team Rep on your shift

  • Reports all safety incidents
  • Works to ensure safety improvement suggestions are logged on the safety board and acted on if urgent

Required Attributes

  • Training and knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities at once
  • Education/Experience:  Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in related field

Working Conditions:

Work safely in a dynamic Class 10,000 clean room production environment building sophisticated small to medium builds of same or similar electronic products. Employees working in the cleanroom are required to wear appropriate protective clothing - ESD gown, gloves, hairnet and UV safety glasses. There is some exposure to Ultra-Violet light, ESD, Isopropyl alcohol, adhesives odors present, with ear protection required in some areas.
