VP, Total Rewards

We are presently seeking a VP, Total Rewards who will lead the global compensation and benefits functions of the organization.  The incumbent will create the strategic agenda for compensation including executive compensation benefits (including retirement, medical and global benefits offerings) and the integration of relevant SAP SuccessFactors modules. The position will be responsible for global total rewards governance and compliance, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits.  The incumbent will also be responsible for initiating, planning, and monitoring the execution of compensation and benefits projects and processes to ensure they align with the organizational goals. It will be important to be aware of, build and implement best practices and capabilities to enable the organization to remain compliant and competitive in the marketplace.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced leader and global total rewards professional that can balance the strategic, implementation, customer service and compliance aspects of this role.  The Vice President of Total Rewards manages a global team of compensation and benefits professionals; direct reports include total rewards leaders in Germany (for EMEA), Philippines (for APAC), benefits leader (for North America) and a global compensation leader.  The base pay for this position will be between $225-$250K plus incentive bonus with total compensation potential between $275-$325K.

Responsibilities

TOTAL REWARDS:

  • Ensure the value proposition provided by the global total rewards packages is competitive and engaging to all employees and remains aligned to the corporate vision, mission and values;
  • Balance the need for global consistency with the flexibility to customize rewards programs to meet the unique needs of different regions and employee groups, ensuring relevance and effectiveness;
  • Establish effective partnerships with HR leadership peers and key business partners to ensure the voice of the customer(s) remains central to the total rewards function;
  • Partner closely with key business functions to design and implement rewards programs that recognize and incentivize performance at all levels of the organization, from frontline manufacturing staff to executive leadership;
  • Evaluate and develop the total rewards strategy based on ROI / benchmarking market and workforce analysis; remain abreast of organizational workforce trends and projections for the future;
  • Develop communication strategies to effectively communicate total rewards programs to employees to ensure they understand the value of their compensation and benefits. Provide education and support to employees on their rewards packages;
  • Streamline and harmonize existing rewards programs to eliminate redundancy, enhance efficiency, and create a consistent employee experience across the organization;
  • Manage vendor relationships, including management of RFPs and SLAs with existing vendors;
  • Ensure total rewards related policies are updated and required process documentation exists;
  • Manage total rewards related requirements of all M&A activity at both the due diligence and integration phases;
  • Create and maintain management of global guidelines, governance, standards and practices related to compensation, benefits, and total rewards related policies (mobility, merit cycle, etc.).

BENEFITS:

  • Ensure competitive benefits offerings to enable recruitment and retention of employees while being cost effective for the organization;
  • Manage benefits strategy, plan design, administration, and comprehensive communication. Oversee health and welfare plan administration, including annual open enrollment process and any associated plan changes, retirement plan administration, wellness, and rewards/recognition programs. Monitor and manage selected vendors against service level agreements and effectiveness.

    COMPENSATION:

    • Lead the design, implementation, and management of compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and equity-based programs. Ensure compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and compliant with relevant regulations;
    • Point of contact for executive compensation and board reporting. 

    COMPLIANCE & GOVERNANCE:

    • Through regular audits, continuously review total rewards governance structure, including compliance and regulatory changes, required filings and ensure proper escalation of critical issues;
    • Manage compensation, benefits and equity budgets;
    • Ensure contingency plans and backup documentation created to avoid “single point of failure” risks;
    • Effectively partner with external agencies supporting equity, reporting, compliance and benefits brokers and providers;
    • Ensure the organization is effectively prepared for the IPO process and post-IPO regulatory requirements.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
    • 15+ years of total rewards experience in a global organization with 5+ of that in a leadership capacity;
    • Experience in a publicly traded organization required; experience with leading organizations through the IPO process helpful;
    • In-depth knowledge of global compensation and benefits practices;
    • Demonstrated communication and change management skills;
    • Proven leadership & development success with both remote and in-person teams;
    • Demonstrated strong business acumen, ability to think strategically and critically;
    • Strong negotiation and consultative skills with the ability to partner with and influence all levels in the organization including senior leadership; proven track record of forming and maintaining positive business relationships;
    • Proven track record of creating and implementing global total rewards programs that drive performance and engagement throughout an organization;
    • Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively; experience developing and implementing large scale projects and change initiatives;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
    • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors modules preferred;
    • This position requires the use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
