Export Control and Sanctions Compliance Management Commitment Statement
As a global company with more than 6,500 employees, Excelitas is committed to strict adherence to all export control and sanctions regulations.
We recognize the role and function of the United States export control system and emphasize its importance in protecting the foreign policy and national security of the United States. Our company is committed to not making any exports that violate, or potentially violate, the International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), or other relevant export control or sanctions laws. Further, no activities will be undertaken that are in violation of the United States policies against certain restricted end uses, such as proliferation of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons or missile technologies.
The ITAR regulate the exports, brokering and temporary imports of defense-related articles on the United States Munitions List (USML) and defense services. The EAR governs exports of dualuse commodities, software, and technologies that can be used for both civilian and military purposes. Sanctions regulations prohibit transactions involving designated countries, entities, organizations, and people. These regulations are designed to ensure that controlled goods, technology and services do not fall into the hands of unauthorized foreign persons, entities, or governments that could compromise U.S. national security and foreign policy interests. United States regulations may extend to certain foreign-produced items that are the direct products of U.S. technology or software, produced on equipment that deploys U.S. technology or software, or that contain certain controlled U.S. origin content.
Our compliance commitment also extends to all non-U.S. export control and sanctions laws and regulations that apply to our global business operations.
It is of utmost importance that all employees understand how export control and sanctions laws impact on their job functions. They must be aware of the specific risks of non-compliance regarding our company's activities, technologies, and export destinations.
Export control is crucial for our company, as it ensures not only compliance with legal regulations but also protects our integrity and reputation in the global market. Violations of export control laws and regulations can lead to significant administrative, civil and criminal penalties against individuals and our company. Employees who violate such laws may be subject to disciplinary action. Adhering to these regulations is essential to maintain the trust of our customers, partners, and regulatory authorities.
We place great importance on routine export compliance monitoring and auditing. Excelitas expects any employee who knowns or suspects of violations to report such information via the company's Compliance Helpline or directly to the Legal & Compliance Department.
